On 1 March 1967, the watch factories in Ruhla, Glashütte and Weimar merged to form the VEB Uhrenkombinat Ruhla. 1989 After the fall of the Berlin Wall, the state-owned company was privatized by the Treuhandanstalt. Today, Uhrenwerken-Ruhla GmbH manufactures the watch brands Iron Annie, Zeppelin and UMF.
