Casio Wave Ceptor

The wristwatches of the Wave Ceptor product line from Casio consist exclusively of radio-controlled watches, the display of which is partly digital, partly analogue, partly both. With the introduction of the WV-100D in 2004, Casio positioned itself on the market for radio-controlled watches. Watches sold in continental Europe usually receive the time signal DCF77 from Mainflingen near Frankfurt am Main. Newer models (from 2006) such as the WV-200DE can also receive time signals from other transmitters, such as the Japanese JJY or the American WWV, which can be automatically searched for or explicitly selected by the watch.

Models equipped with a solar module are increasingly being offered, in which the button cell no longer needs to be replaced (practically) despite the relatively high power consumption due to the frequent radio signal reception. These include, for example, the LCW-M models, which have been sold under the name Lineage since 2011. In the case of the solar models, this is a small battery that extracts excess energy from the solar cells. The energy of the fully charged battery corresponds to a runtime of about 6 months in the dark.

Wave Ceptor Series

Casio's Wave Ceptor series includes a wide range of radio-controlled watches that stand out for their precise timekeeping and innovative technology. This series offers models with a combination of digital and analog displays, which offer a variety of functions such as alarm clock, timer, stopwatch and automatic calendar.

The Wave Ceptor series watches are known for their ability to receive radio signals from various transmitters around the world, which allows for accurate time synchronization. In addition, many models in the Wave Ceptor series offer solar charging, which ensures long battery life and is environmentally friendly.
