Watches made of slate with quartz and funk movement

Geologically, the material slate, which also plays a role in the production of wall clocks, is a group of metamorphic rocks. Under high pressure, new phyllosilicates have formed from the minerals of clayey sedimentary rocks, all of which are aligned in parallel (= schistosity) and thus determine the good cleavage of the rock. In the production of slate watches, the manufacturers Vaerst and AMS in particular consciously use this material in the manufacture of their watches. The Vaerst brand manufactures its watches exclusively from slate and has thus achieved a unique position. Slate clocks are offered with a quartz movement, radio movement or as a pendulum clock.

Slate - natural rock in its most beautiful form!

Natural slate is a unique natural product that was formed no less than 400 million years ago. One of the properties of slate is durability. The formation of the slate is based on very high tecotnic pressure, which caused the folding of the clay rock.

Most people are certainly familiar with a slate roof, but why not hang or place a slate clock in the living room. These look particularly elegant due to the mostly bright or even shiny hands on the black slate. In addition, the care of slate is quite easy. As long as you make sure to use an acid-free and non-leaching cleaning agent, everything is fine. Although there are special products available on the market for cleaning slate, simple soft soap will do the trick too.

Furthermore, each slate has an individual surface structure, so that all slate tiles and other slate products are unique.
