The Liha Tradition
The tradition of Liha watches is almost 100 years old. In 1918, Johann Liebhaber founded the watchmaker’s business. In the 1930s he sold his models to Europe, India, China, Africa and South America. In 1928, Max Liebhaber was born as one of five children. He later restructured the company with a new focus on promotional items. However, he remains faithful to clocks and develops church clocks, while a part of the revenue is always used as a donation for the rehabilitation of the respective church.
Today, the company is run in the third generation and now increasingly concentrates on the production of high-quality mechanical watches again. Particular emphasis was placed on adapting the design of the models from the early years and modifying them in accordance with current trends. Therefore, the casing was made of 585 gold. This alloy is also particularly scratch-resistant, which makes the Liha watch an everyday chronograph. By the way, the gold used is ethically unproblematic.
Liha watches are „Made in Germany„. Only the clockwork (ETA 2824-2) comes from the Swiss watch factory ETA and is one of the most popular and long-lasting in its class.
Small details like the moon phase appliqués at the positions of 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock, as well as the L engraved on the crown, make the watch a very special piece.
The motto of Liha watches always was to do good deeds, too. Thus, a part of the revenue of each sold watch is donated to the Max Liebhaber Foundation, which primarily supports projects for children with this money.
